Superior Gloves has a newer leather work glove available that incorporates a Kevlar/fiberglass liner that now provides ANSI cut level 4 protection and ANSI level 3 puncture protection.

In general, leather work gloves have not been viewed favorably for providing cut protection to workers. Leather can be good for abrasion issues, but sharp edges seem to cut through leather fairly easy.

Superior Gloves has a newer leather work glove available that incorporates a Kevlar/fiberglass liner that now provides ANSI cut level 4 protection and ANSI level 3 puncture protection. Employers are always seeking ways to both keep their employees safe and to increase production. Having a single type of glove to help prevent punctures and cuts is advantageous in certain job functions. Whatever the job demands, there probably is a glove out there to help workers stay productive and safe.

For many years, manufacturers have sewn leather patches to the palms of Kevlar string knit gloves, but now they are able to incorporate a tighter weave liner put into a traditional safety cuff work glove (allowing for additional puncture protection not provided by the older technique).

For more information on this glove, contact our Technical Support team today.

An important part of the safety supply business is providing our customers with samples. Samples are a smart way to allow customers to try different products with the hope of accomplishing one of several potential goals:

Save Money – This seems pretty obvious, but we realize that when you have a tight budget, even a little savings for a high commodity item can yield large savings over the year.

Improve Safety – In my opinion, the primary goal of encouraging samples is getting customers to switch to a better product. Whether it is a better cut-resistant glove or an earplug with a better NRR rating, our goal at Conney Safety is to keep you safe.

Help Customers Make an Informed Decision – Samples are a way to keep from making the wrong decision about a product you saw online or in our catalog. Rather than ordering 100 hairnets simply to find out they are nothing like you thought (maybe they feel too scratchy), getting a couple samples of a low cost item prevents the hassle of having to return something you didn’t like.

Granted, samples are certainly not available for just any product. Economics comes into play when requesting a sample. If an item is simply too expensive for us to provide a sample, we do have the option of providing a “trial order”. A trial order is when we bill you for a given safety product and allow you to try it for 30 days. If it does not perform as expected, you can return the product for a refund. We cannot do trial orders on all products and we do use discretion with this policy.

Give us a call at 800-462-1947 to learn more!

Most of the time, you will find this coating only on the palm of thin, nylon liner. Workers like this concept of a glove for the dexterity and grip. Let’s face it, if an employee cannot pick up small parts or manipulate their hands for various work procedures, there is a good chance they will not wear any gloves at all. This is commonly where accidents can happen. These palm coated gloves are most commonly made either white (to show the dirt easily for certain work facilities) or in a dark grey or black (to help hide the dirt so employees will wear them longer before disposing of them).

The big concern regarding this coating is the solvent Dimethyl Formamide (DMF) used to put the coating on the glove. Newer water-based PU formulations are available and we are seeing more of the gloves being introduced on the market. While being a bit more expensive, these water-based PU gloves are completely solvent free and are a bit softer.
Our JBC cones are made of 100% virgin brilliant orange or lime PVC with UV inhibitors on both the surface and inner layer. They simply will not fade!

Traffic safety cones may not be an exciting topic, but I do have something exciting to share with you about Conney Safety’s new supplier of traffic safety cones – JBC (page 419 of our new catalog). Most all safety cones are made by a process called flow molding. You can tell if your cones are made from this process by simply looking at the inside of the cone. If the cone is white or lacking color on the inside, this type of cone is flow molded and will commonly fade from exposure to the sun in less than 1 year.

Our new JBC cones are made from a process called injection molding and you will notice the color on the inside of the cone is exactly the same as the outside. Our JBC cones are made of 100% virgin brilliant orange or lime PVC with UV inhibitors on both the surface and inner layer. They simply will not fade.

These cones also have a much higher tensile strength (strength of the cone wall) and have much greater flexibility. They can be impacted many times by vehicles and not crack or fold over and become unusable. However, when finally ready to be retired from service, they are environmentally friendly and 100% recyclable. Now that is exciting news!

I am really into safety product technology and this is one particular product that gets my adrenaline surging. MSA is the first company ever to come out with sensors that have a full 3 year warranty and are expected to last over 4 years…remarkable! Other cool features include the “InstantAlert” feature which enables users to manually alert other employees of a dangerous situation with the push of a button. This same feature will cause the monitor to alarm if a worker becomes disabled due to an unforeseen hazard, thus alerting rescue workers quickly.

Take a look at MSANET to learn more. While this monitor may cost a couple hundred dollars more, the cost of ownership is quickly realized when you look at the incredible warranties this unit provides. Truly state of the art technology for an air monitor.
