Ingredients Recommended for ANSI First Aid Kits

The ANSI standard was revised back in 2003 (ANSI Z308.1-2003 – Minimum Requirements for Workplace First Aid Kits) and has only a few specific ingredients that have been added since the last revision in 1998.  What is important to understand is that these ingredient additions are only “recommended” and not considered required contents (although it certainly is a good idea to consider such additions).

To help you understand this standard better, please read this document, of which gives a detailed description of first aid kit “types” along with the required and recommended ingredients for all kits.  ANSI created this list as they feel there are certain first aid items that should be in EVERY kit (regardless of the kit size).
